Is - it legal to record phone conversations?
Before you rush to download an application to record your call, it should be answering this question. Indeed, it would be a pity to be victim of prosecution for your action.
Be aware that French case-law allows the recording of a telephone conversation to possibly use as evidence. Of course, it must be compliant to your dispute and must not undermine fundamental rights and freedoms. You must simply notify your contact person at the recording of the conversation and the latter consents.
Fortunately, you also want to record a conversation without wanting to use it as a proof, but to use it as a souvenir or a voice note.
How does it work?
As so often, there are countless applications, all as effective than the other. We identified one, call (also called callX) record since it is free and easy to use. The French translation leaves much to be desired, and if you find another application that you think is better, do not hesitate to let us know following the article in the comments.
Record calls on Android
After you install the application, start. Go to the settings by clicking on the little round top right to check that all is well in place.
The record must first be enabled and the source must be VOICE_CALL. You can increase the audio quality (in 44 k for example), but only the MP3 format is available in this application. It is more than sufficient to record a call making a so significant that in sum quality gain.
In the main menu (Home), you can drag to the right to access the Filter (filter) tab. It allows you to enable or disable the automatic call recording. Handy if you do not want to end up with a bunch of audio files to be sorted at the end of the day, the day where you forget to disable the application...

A long press on a record allows you to place it in your Favorites (star icon). The same tab is accessible by sliding to the right. You can also directly to store your audio files on a Dropbox account or share it via email, Skype, WhatsApp or Bluetooth.

Finally, keep in mind even once call recordings are supervised by the law. Do not use the applications for registration for dishonest purposes.
