Here are some tips and tricks to make the best possible photos with an iPhone (or iPad). Remember, the simplest are often the most effective.

How to take great photos with the iPhone

A clean lens

It's stupid but it makes a lot of damage on the photographs. Dust and other dirt should be avoided. A soft cloth will do.

Use both hands

It's stupid too, but with both hands it is more stable and we will have a clearer picture.

 Forward instead of zoom

Zooming on iPhone and iPad is digital (for the moment), it is better to travel than to use it. The quality will be well preserved.

 Manual focus

Before you take your shot, remember to press once on the screen to trigger the manual focus (on the iPhone 5s is automatic, but sometimes you need help).

 A leading

To take a landscape photo, you better try to find a key to bring relief. An object or person will do and will give another dimension to your photo.

 Light instead of flash

If possible, ban flash and looking for the best angle to the sun in the back. The lights are much more loyal. Besides, if the sun is too far, the picture will not be optimal. Prefer clouds.

 In terms of subject

To take a nice picture, you have to have to be at the target subject. If it's a child, do not hesitate to crouch. Think about it!

The straight skyline

Another simple but effective advice. Keep the good horizontal skyline, you will have a pleasant result to watch, especially on the big screen.

A small filter to finish the job

After all this, it is possible to sublimate the image by applying a filter to switch to black and white, increase the contrast or add grain for example. Use it wisely.
