Gmail : More than 1.5 billion active users on 2016

Sundar Pichai, Google's CEO, lifted the veil on the results of his company in the last quarter of the year which has just ended. As you may have guessed, the Mountain View firm is doing well and its e-mail service, Gmail, has just reached the milestone of the billion active users (i.e. connecting at least once per month). The mail client joins Search, Chrome, Android, Google Maps, Play YouTube and thus becomes the seventh service of the search giant to seduce approximately a human out of seven in the world (without considering the multi-account).

The last census dates back to the month of may, when Google I/O, where Google announced that Gmail had over 900 million active users. Surprisingly, however, that this service more than 10 years old and today considered one of the leaders in its category has not crossed the Cape earlier. By comparison, Facebook had 1.55 billion active users last September.
